If you love vintage and antique jewelry –  and love traveling the world to find it in markets, antique shows, and shops – you’ve come to the right place.  I am a veteran vintage and antique jewelry dealer and this blog is where I share information about jewelry history and my tips for successful antiquing around the world.

I’ve been collecting vintage jewelry and clothing for decades, since I was teenager combing vintage clothing stores in New York City (where I grew up).  In the late ’90’s I started a side business selling antique and vintage jewelry which has now evolved into a full-time profession.   In addition to selling at antique shows I have an online shop on Ruby Lane, also called Lisa Kramer Vintage.

When I started to take antique buying trips I found that the information available wasn’t always reliable or complete.  So I decided to start this blog to share information about destinations for buying antiques.  And with degrees in architecture and archeology, my travel posts often include information about nearby art and architecture.  And since I’m also passionate about food, my travel posts often include restaurant recommendations, because antiquing is always better when you eat well!

I’ll also occasionally post recipes; long before I started blogging I participated in several year-long food blogger challenges as non-blogging participant.

I am a member of the Association for the Study of Jewelry and Related Arts (ASJRA), Costume Jewelry Collectors International, the Art Deco Society of California, the Women’s Jewelry Association, and the Art Jewelry Forum.  I have also completed the Accredited Jewelry Professional program of the Gemological Institute of America.
